Sorry for poor English... It is what it is ;-)
I born 48 years ago in nice Odesa city of Ukraine. I started to use computer in about 1989 year. It was nice Sinclar ZX-Spectrum, which father bought me (thank you, dad), connected to tape recorder and usual TV set. There was a lot of games and even that old computer has been able to win. But I wanted to win as well. And occasionally I found a magazine with "How to win a game" page. There was described something like "In this game you have 3 lives. It decreases every time when you see "You lost one life" message and when it will be equal to 0, it means you are real loser. But we can remove substractor and you will have 3 lives all the time ;-)". I did not want to be a real loser. It was a miracle :-). So I started to "fix" games to be able win. It was a hobby, just for me and friends. Later I found a
company what did sell games that time and asked if they have some job for me. And yes, they had a lot of tasks. I "fixed" disk with 8-10 games for 2 dollars... :-) But actually I only needed 10-15 minutes for one game. It has been good money for that time (for cigarettes, beer and ... books, yeah). There were not just "cracker's" tasks. This company made own version of ZX-Spectrum, named Pelikan-512. It had huge memory (512 kb vs standard 128 kb). They also integrated HDD, real time clock, light pen, mouse and made researches for integration this computer into car. We cooperated in several direction: games were translated to Russian, music was added, music-demos were created. I found just one link about me though
https://www.zxaaa.net/view_demo.php?id=8715 :-) Really I am so shy and never used real name, so maybe they are exist somewhere. Nobody knows, it was long time ago and not a truth ;-)
But time was going forward and some day ZX-Spectrum was obsolete. IBM-compatible computers were not so powerfull that time, but expensive. I sold ZX-Spectrum and we bought IBM-386 SX-25 together with classmate. With B/W monitor and withouth HDD. It was 1993-1994 year. And that comp was really poor. So I sold it and was free...
I even found a wife then... :-)
But Bill Gates did not sleep enough (joke) and created Windows 95. We bought Pentium-166 MMX (thank you, mom, this time). Yea, Windows 95 was huge step after Windows 3.11. We had even CD-Rom, but brother traded it to the modem. I was angry (but thank you, bro, as well, Internet is not so bad thing as I found later)... :-)
In 1999 I made application for diploma on
O'Basic 97. Then one more, for a
job agency. I was in love to programming. Then I had my own company and moved to program management and testing (in ~2003-2004 year). I "lost wave" as programmer. But we have got a
daughter (love you. Call me some day ;-) ) instead :-)
Okay, but I dreamed to be a programmer again. I have finished professional programming "VC++ and MFC" course in 2005 year and learned C# myself. I found it more friendly and loved it from first look. Thank you, Bill Gates, again. It was in about 2005-2006 year, I did feel how strong am I ;-) but I did not have any portfolio. Then I made several projects (
Eterio message board,
Eterio CMS,
Eterio shop,
music catalogue) and have got job at
TOM company. Job has been nice, I loved it, but we have got crisis and company suspended this direction. I moved to freelance. Then changed several jobs and countries and finally (for a while) stopped in Hawaii and returned back to the freelance.
Except computers and programming I like listen to music, photography, operate a drone
https://youtu.be/m6XCmAYe2GU, drive a car, bicycle, scooter, hiking, play computer games, ping-pong, gardening, make home improvements and a lot of other things. I also love my (future) wife and our new family and life in general.
